Bio
Ember Muninn (they/them) is a multidisciplinary artist, instructor and event creator of settler descent living in the lands of the Stó꞉lō Nation.
In 2011, they earned their BFA from Emily Carr University and have pursued a career in the arts ever since. They have shown their work in numerous group shows around BC, with a solo show in 2024 at Slice of Life Gallery, Vancouver. Ember has also worked behind the scenes as the Gallery Coordinator for the Kariton Art Gallery and as the Creative Director of Snag in the Valley. In 2023 they were awarded the Arty Award for Arts Advocate of the Year for their passion creating events that foster community and support local artists.
Ember is a founding member of the arts collective, Connect, alongside other female and non-binary artists from across BC. In 2025 they will exhibit alongside other Connect artists at the Sunshine Coast Arts Council in Sechelt, BC.
They currently maintain their practice in their home studio, carving out space for exploration amongst daily life. Ember’s work plays with dimension-shifting mystical thought, the multiverse, and divine connection. They embrace entropy through paint, allowing the materials to work alongside them to create something new that didn’t exist before. Their work is a balancing act between all the multitudes of being that pull us towards expansion alongside the universe, until we settle into ourself.
